Effective date: August 14, 2026
HappyFarmer North-America ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit www.happyfarmerna.com, place an order, or contact us — and how we use and protect that information.
1. Information we collect
- Order and account information: name, email address, postal address, phone number, order history and — for business customers — company details.
- Payment information: the information needed to process your payment. We do not store credit card or bank account numbers ourselves; payments are handled by our payment service providers (see §5).
- Communication: when you email or call us, we keep that correspondence.
- Website usage: information about your visit to our website, such as the pages you view and how you found our website (see §3 and §4).
2. How we use your information
We collect and use personal information only for the purposes described in this policy, unless we ask for your consent for another use:
- To process your order: fulfillment, shipping, payment handling, invoicing, and customer support.
- To keep our records: as required by law, including tax law.
- To send our newsletter and product updates: only with your consent — you can unsubscribe at the bottom of every email.
- To measure and improve our website and marketing: as described in §3 and §4.
3. Our own visitor measurement
We use our own measurement system to understand through which channels — such as search engines, advertising, or email — visitors reach our website. When you log in to your account, place an order, or click a link in one of our emails, we may link your visits from different devices or browsers together. We use this information solely to measure the effectiveness of our own marketing; we do not store IP addresses in this system and we do not use this information for advertising networks or any other third-party purposes. Advertising click identifiers are kept for a maximum of 180 days; device links for a maximum of 12 months.
4. Cookies and third-party measurement
In addition to our own measurement, and depending on the preferences you set in our cookie banner, we use the following third-party services:
- Google (Google Ads and Google Shopping): measuring advertising performance.
- Klaviyo: measures website activity (such as viewed products) to make our emails more relevant.
You can refuse non-essential cookies through the cookie banner. Refusing cookies may affect how some parts of the website work.
5. Sharing your information
We do not share personal information with third parties unless this is necessary to provide our services or to comply with legal obligations. We never sell your information. We have data processing agreements in place with the parties that process information on our behalf:
| Party | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Shopify | E-commerce platform |
| Our payment service providers | Payment processing |
| Zoho | Accounting, inventory, and order processing |
| Our shipping carriers | Delivery of your order |
| Klaviyo | Email: newsletters and service messages |
| Measurement services as described in §4 |
Our staff are required to treat your information confidentially. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect and defend our rights.
6. Where your information is processed
Your information may be processed on secure servers in Canada and in the European Union, where our affiliated group companies provide order processing, customer service, and measurement systems on our behalf, under the safeguards described in this policy.
7. How long we keep your information
We do not keep your information longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected for, unless a legal retention obligation applies:
- Order and invoice records: at least 6 years, as required by Canadian tax law.
- Advertising click identifiers: maximum 180 days (see §3).
- Device links from our own visitor measurement: maximum 12 months (see §3).
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Correspondence and other information: as long as needed for the purpose of your contact with us.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information deleted;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing;
- receive a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used format (data portability);
- withdraw consent you previously gave.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
11. Changes to this policy
